Sestina Services for all Your Natural Gas and LPG Requirements

Featured Work

Oyster 47: Work carried out in readiness for sale included a complete inspection and over haul of her LPG system.

The LPG system consists of a sealed locker on the stern containing the cylinders. The gas supply being isolated with a solenoid valve. The copper pipework then runs forward to the galley through a manual isolating valve with test point. Finally connecting with the cooker via a flexible hose.

I cleaned all the burners; replaced the regulator, the solenoid, all the flexible hoses and one of the cylinders which had rusted so badly I condemned it. Note that all the new hoses have been dated. They have a life of five years. The system was pressure tested and correct operation of all the flame supervision devices verified. A Gas Safety Inspection Certificate issued.

The Owner had complained that one of the hob burners needed a new thermocouple as it would not stay alight. I found that the valve was slightly loose where it was bolted to the stove chassis. This was tightened up and the burner worked perfectly. A new thermocouple was not required.
